| The computing section looked lonely so I re-made this topic! But this time I beg of you not to argue! Please can everyone be ready for their preferred version of windows to accept criticism (!) and this topic will be locked or deleted if it breaks out into arguments again. |

| XP is better for Vista for the following reasons:
- Less lag - Easier interface - More Customizeable - More professional |

| I've spent a while thinking about which one to vote for but in the end I didvote for XP for the following reasons:
It may not look as polished as Vista but is a lot mre customisable.
XP does not use up ridiculous amounts of memory, on my laptop it came with about 20Gb already full, and guess what takes up most of that momory!
XP is much faster, although my latop has a quite good 1gb of RAM it still can run hellish slow, our crappy old PC can run faster! (The PC is XP the laptop is Vista). |

| I am going to have to say...... Windows XP!
It is not as visualy good but you can achive much more despite it's rubbish encryption status. If windows 7 was on there, I would have voted for it, but it's not so.
WINDOWS XP ALL THE WAY! |

| ... Windows XP is only just scraping by on my list so I wouldn’t be so cocky if I were you. Look, the only reason XP can achieve more than vista is because Microsoft listened to the customers. It can run DOS programs with a little bit of coding, it supports DivX pro HD codec and when visual studio 2008 is running... it does not take up all the CPU process and all the ram. Please refer to the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) in your system to achieve optimum results for XP. ... Still XP for me. |

| that post went 'input output' of my head... hang on, i'll use babel fish to translate what you just said... "it better is than Vista because programs DOS can run more of with little coding, ya"? But... really!? I honestly thought you liked Vista better because it has more RAM space or more MB, or something... better disk drives...(i don't know, something along those lines anyway...) Oh, and if you like XP so much, how come you went and put WINDOWS 7 ON OUR PC?? W7 is vista! Our computer is running slower than ever! could you please take it off? |

| That is a very good point Will, you kept going on about how amazing windows 7 is and how great it is at running games, so why did you vote XP??? |

| I prefer Window XP because it is what I have used for the longest, and quite frankly it doesn't require as much memory to run efficiently. Don't get me wrong, Vista is pretty and all, but I have used Linux-based O/S's that were just as attractive if not, more so, and not only were they more secure, but they also ran faster, and their requirements are a lot lower than that of Vista. |

| They are more secure because some of them have built in antivirus. (Ubuntu, Red Hat, ect...) and since it is not one of the most used Operating Systems, there are not as many viruses for them such as Microsoft Windows And Apple Mac.
still Windows XP for me, but only just.... |
