Version 3! This one had better last.

The Restaurant at the End of the Universe by Douglas Adams. Sequel to Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I think Restaurant is better, so far. They're really worth reading, especially if you are a fan of Terry Pratchett's Discworld franchise.

So... what are you reading?

Good, good! I initially thought the idea of a nation centred around examinations a bit silly, but it's effective and quite frightening too.

It's Book I of a trilogy, although I haven't read II & III. They're all in the library.

Anyways, I have started A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin (who is not a Tolkien clone), which is the first in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. I don't think the books have been very successful over here. =P

But it is brilliant. It's about rising tension between the families of the Seven Kingdoms; not only has the king chosen the Starks as his Hand over the Lannisters, but the original heirs of the throne have married into the barbaric Dothraki race and are preparing for war. And winter is coming (winters can last for generations).

What is great is that there is no main character (like Harry or Eragon), which means that anyone could die. Anyone. Again, it is brilliant.

Still haven't finished A Game of Thrones. It is a big book.

I also started Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen a few days ago. It's a classic I have wanted to read for a while, so I'm gonna have to really get into it sometime.

Who's the author?

Finished A Game of Thrones. I've started A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, which is simultaneously the strangest and goriest book I have ever laid eyes upon.

Bradley, could you tell me the name of the 3rd book of the wind on fire series?
I have read the first two, and I love them! Would it be in the school library?

To answer ravinrabbid's question: It's called Firesong (it's blue =P), I'm pretty sure it's hanging around somewhere in the library.

Reading The Crucible by Arthur Miller for English, which is... alright, I don't like reading plays. I'd rather watch it.

I'm also trying to read the Dictionary of Modern History... which isn't really modern history, because it's from 1789 -> 1945. It's a meaty book, I'm only on the B section. >_<
